Domeniile Pană – an attractive family wine business for tourists in the south of Moldova
Domeniile Pană is a family-owned wine business that has sparked attention among consumers thanks to a “special philosophy” of Nicolae Minciună, the owner of the business, who has 20 years of professional experience in winemaking. Born in Slobozia Mare, Cahul district, where winemaking is a big part of the locals’ main occupation, Nicolae has become familiar with different wine production techniques from an early age.m. After completing his studies in wine technology, he gained valuable experience as a winemaker working for several years in wineries from Moldova, Romania and New Zealand. Combining the knowledge he gathered from ancestors, teachers and world-renowned wineries, Nicolae decided to return home and open a small wine business.

Models to follow in rural economy | Agriculture – EU-LEADER Flagship Initiatives Fund, 2020
Agriculture has an important role in the Republic of Moldova, taking into account that a third of the population activates in this sector. The proper integration of new technology in the field of agriculture is a new trend, which has a lot of advantages for this sector. We encourage you to discover Alexandru Casap’s story, one of our local partners that received non-reimbursable funding from the EU-LEADER Flagship Initiatives Fund, 2020 edition, to buy a drone specific for agriculture activities. Small and medium producers that use new technology for responsible agriculture, that work with care for the soil and the quality of the products, should be supported. It is important to ensure the fertilization of the soil in order to protect that valuable natural resources our country has to offer.

LEADER approach in Moldova: evolution from a pilot project to a national program
The National LEADER Network, in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of the Republic of Moldova (MAIA), with the support of Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova (SFPL in Moldova), launched the LEADER Program on 3 June 2022 and presented the results of the LEADER approach, funded by the European Union, USAID and Polish aid, as a tool for community development in rural regions of the Republic of Moldova. Thus, the Republic of Moldova became the first and currently the only country outside the European Union to implement the LEADER approach as a public policy instrument for rural development.
